The Answer (Poem)

how do you pick up the pieces
of a puzzle without a picture?
how do you recall the beams
of a light without a fixture?
thoughts come unattended
like knives thrown from behind,
the past arrives unmended,
casting fragments still left to find.

so how do you forget
when remembrance remains?
or how are you supposed to heal
with so many untended stains?
the world comes in parade
like a lover's voice in the dawn,
but leaves with its promises unmade,
recasting the pain that's never gone.

so how do you cope
in a universe without end?
or how do you write
in a cosmos still un-penned?
no answer comes in a shrug,
like logic without a care,
until Light gives the dark a tug,
And the answer Himself is there.
